Reconstructing the timeline of the Hijri calendar during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ has always been a puzzle, mostly because surviving historical records don't always align perfectly with astronomical realities [1]. This work is an effort to bridge that gap. By compiling a comprehensive set of crescent visibility maps spanning from 13 BH to 11 AH (609–632 CE) as well as maps for 53 BH to mark the year of the Prophet’s ﷺ birth, this project offers a reliable, scientific baseline for early Islamic history.

These crescent visibility maps are generated using the Odeh criterion for astronomical back-calculations, bringing early chronology into direct alignment with modern science. Instead of relying on guesswork, it provides exact, data-driven visuals that map out crescent visibility during the prophetic era. My hope is that this serves as a valuable, practical tool for historians, astronomers, and theologians alike.
