The crescent sighting for the month of Sha'bān will be on January 20, 2026. 

We are in a unique situation because the past four months (from Rabi' ul-Awwal to Jumada al-Akhirah) were all 30 days. If the month of Rajab also completes 30 days, there is a possibility that the Ramadān crescent could be sighted as early as the 28th of Sha'bān.

So, whether the crescent is sighted or not by the naked eye, the Hilal Committee has no other option but to officially start the month of Sha'bān on January 21, 2026.

The 1st day of Ramadān will be on the 19th of February 2026 and the month will have 30 days. Shawwāl 1st (Eid) will be on 21st March 2026. InSha Allah!

கடந்த நான்கு மாதங்களும் (ரபிஉல் அவ்வல் முதல் ஜுமாதல் ஆகிரா வரை) தொடர்ந்து 30 நாட்களாகவே அமைந்ததால் ஒரு முக்கிய சூழல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. ஒருவேளை ரஜப் மாதமும் 30 நாட்களாகப் பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டால், ஷஃபான் 28-ஆம் தேதியன்றே ரமலான் மாதத்திற்கான பிறை தென்படக்கூடிய வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது.

எனவே, ஜனவரி 20 அன்று வெற்றுக் கண்ணுக்குப் பிறை தெரிந்தாலும் தெரியாவிட்டாலும், ஜனவரி 21-ஆம் தேதி ஷஃபான் மாதத்தைத் தொடங்குவதைத் தவிர ஹிலால் கமிட்டிக்கு வேறு வழியில்லை.
